XNA Game Studio Beta Released

Today Microsoft released beta 1 of XNA Game Studio Express. It's no secret that I've been anticipating it's release since it was announced all those weeks ago. I happy to report that after installing it, and playing around I've successfully managed to get Mackenzie's head to bounce around a window.

...

Okay, okay I admit that isn't all that fantastic. But cut me some slack! After all, I'm a web programmer. That's about as far as you can get from being a real programmer, much less a game programmer! My world revolves around HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript. C# is an entirely new beast. My next goal will be to manipulate the sprite's direction using the XBOX 360 gamepad. I tried to figure it out last night, but, well... it's harder than you think. ;)

Ep5: E3 all over again

Okay, there has been a slight change of plan. We're only going to relase one comic this week, episode six will join the party next week. For episode 5 we're paying homage to the comic that started it all. Did you get the joke? If not you'll have to go back to Jade's E3 contest favourite entries. The first thing you'll notice is that it's featuring a bat. The writer of the information page incorrectly called him both "Bat Boy" and "Hell Bat" (his name is 'Devil Bat'), but that's okay. I didn't win the contest, but it did give me the opportunity to draw comics for XBOX.ca and you don't pass an opportunity like that up!

Also available from there is the avatar pack I made available earlier this week. So what are you waiting for, go check it out!

A lot of work for a picture

Interesting, I have to make a post if I want to upload a photo of myself. I hope they fix that in the next version.
